The operation, which utilized advanced drone surveillance, was conducted at sea and marks a significant milestone in ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking.

In response to criticism of traditional interdiction methods, DEA Administrator Terry Cole defended the agency's comprehensive 'all hands approach' to stopping narcotics from entering the United States. The U.S. also announced plans to designate Venezuela's Cartel de los Soles as a foreign terrorist organization, citing increased aggression and corruption among traffickers, though Venezuelan President Maduro denies involvement.

On these pallets, nearly 50,000 pounds of cocaine, worth more than $360 million, spoils from the biggest cocaine haul in Coast Guard history. In South Florida, we got a close-up look as Coast Guard crews offloaded the narcotics. That is the pure, uncut cocaine from the jungle. I think the traffickers have become more aggressive, driven by profit, driven by corruption. The U.S. announced plans this week to designate Venezuela's Cartel de los Soles, a loose network of state military groups, as a foreign terrorist organization. Amid a pressure campaign on the country's president. There is more than sufficient evidence to convict every single member of Cartel de Soles, to convict Maduro of drug atrocities, of drug crimes.
