The Coral Adventurer, billed as a luxury vessel, had departed Cairns and was off the coast of Papua New Guinea when it ran aground on a reef after encountering strong currents. That happened early yesterday morning and the ship remained stuck there with efforts still underway to refloat it. Eighty passengers and 43 crew members are on board. We're told no one was injured when this happened. You may remember this ship and the cruise line Coral Expeditions. In October, the same vessel was in the spotlight after 80-year-old passenger Suzanne Rees died. She had been left behind on Queensland's Lizard Island after falling ill on an excursion. Australian maritime authorities are still investigating that. As for this latest incident, the Coral Adventurer is being inspected to assess any damage to the hull and also to the marine environment.
