The Sydney to Hobart yacht race is approaching its finish in Hobart, with Comanche currently leading the fleet as it enters the Derwent River. Law Connect follows about five nautical miles behind, having faced repeated mainsail damage that has hampered its chances of catching up.

Celestial V70 is leading overall and appears unlikely to lose unless a major error occurs. Large crowds have gathered to watch the finish, with the race expected to be decided soon as competitors approach the final stretch.

Brooke, are we in for a close finish tonight? Oh absolutely, Scotty. The race has not yet been won. We have just met up with Comanche who is leading the way. I'm going to show you them now. The sails have entered the Derwent. Now though we can't see them, Law Connect is not far behind. About five nautical miles back. The contest is still very much on. Comanche here has a cast of thousands viewing them along the way. Now Law Connect is following them. They are battling a few issues of their own. They ripped their mainsail earlier today. They fixed it and then they ripped it again. So it will be a bit of a struggle to try and catch them now. I'm going to take you back over there. Comanche is absolutely cruising through. We spoke to the navigator of Law Connect who's doing his very best to catch up. It's a funny morning. We're all, three of us are all side by side. Dog fighting our way down the jazzy coast. That's all the play for. Now we've just got to try and put as much time on them because we're a wounded, we're a bit of a wounded animal at the moment. Now Scotty, all of this will be settled very, very soon. As you can see, we are getting very close to the finish line here in the Derwent. That being said, the overall contender Celestial V70 is cruising very far ahead. So they'd have to make a major mistake if they were to lose this one. Scotty, I'm going to head back to you and try and enjoy the finish here and hopefully keep my legs. Oh, keep your legs and hang on tight Brooke. Don't go overboard.
