The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced the negotiated drug prices that will take effect in 2027 for Medicare Part D, as part of the Inflation Reduction Act. The new pricing includes significant reductions for several high-cost medications, particularly those used to treat diabetes and cancer.

Among the highlighted changes, diabetes drugs such as Ozempic, Wachovia, and Rebelsis will see prices set at $274, which is 71% below the current list price, with a Most Favored Nation price of $245 prevailing. Other notable reductions include Janument by Merck at $80 and Torgenta from Beringer Ingleham at $78, both over 80% below list price. The cancer drug Polymist for myeloma will be priced at $86.50, reflecting a 60% discount.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid out with their Inflation Reduction Act negotiated prices. These are the companies and the drugs that will be at these prices starting in 2027 in Medicare Part D. One of the biggest categories is diabetes, of course, Ozempic, Wachovia, Rebelsis in that cohort. The negotiated price is $274 at 71 percent below the list price. But, of course, we know the MFN price is $245, and that's the one that will actually prevail. They were both negotiated separately. Janument for type 2 diabetes by Merck, that one, 85 percent list price below at $80. Torgenta from Beringer, Ingleham, $78, also 84 percent below. The biggest ones are the cancer drugs. The most expensive, let me get that one in, is for blood cancer, Polymist for myeloma. That one is a 60 percent discount at $86.50.
