The ability to have more effective trade with them, to scale that trade with them, would be greatly helped by that. Carney says he's working to double non-U.S. exports in the next decade but he's also facing questions about trade partners like India which the RCMP has accused of being involved in homicides, extortion and threats on Canadian soil, a claim India denies. We have to remain vigilant. We are vigilant. Carney says a trade deal isn't an endorsement of everything a country does. Adding his plan is tiered. India is part of an expansion in Asia. But asked if he's deprioritizing Africa, he said the continent's not at the top of his list. Yes, Africa is part. Is it the first thing we worked on in terms of priorities? No. Some say Carney is losing sight of major transformations taking place in Africa. It's quite mind-boggling that we see this growth in mining. We see this growth in trade. For example, our trade has increased by 30 percent over the past five years and yet we seem not to see the opportunities that the continent presents to Canada. As for Donald Trump who boycotted this summit, Carney seemed frustrated by questions about his U.S. counterpart. Last time you spoke to Trump, sir? Who cares? I mean it's a detail. It's a detail. I don't have a burning issue to speak with the president about right now.
