Katter, known for his colourful career and memorable public moments, remains the longest serving active MP in Federal Parliament. The ceremony highlighted both his unique personality and his dedication to public service, with Katter expressing no intention of slowing down his political work.

But there is a softer side to the 80 year old larrikin. So this is for you, Mum, and for all the other mums that have created our great nation. Here in Federal Parliament, Bob Katter is currently the longest serving active MP. And while today is a great honour, there are no signs that Bob is slowing down.
