The team consists of 43 swimmers who are optimistic and eager to begin their campaigns. Notable swimmers include Jenna Strosch, returning from injury, and Elijah Winnington, aiming to redeem himself after his performance in Tokyo. The team is confident, believing they can achieve remarkable results in the pool.

Team members have taken precautions due to a COVID-19 outbreak in Australia's headquarters, with two cases reported in the women's water polo squad. Despite initial discomfort with the cardboard beds provided at the village, the swimmers have found a solution by using mattress toppers.

Chef de mission Anna Mears will soon announce the two athletes who will carry Australia's flag in the opening ceremony, with paddling champion Jess Fox and hockey legend Eddie Ockenden seen as favourites for the honour. Meanwhile, the Olympic scene has been marked by two scandals: British dressage rider Charlotte Dujardin withdrawing after a controversial video surfaced, and Polish high jumper Norbert Kobielski's provisional suspension for doping.
