The collaboration is described as mutually beneficial, showcasing local talent while enhancing the hospital environment.

This is a beautiful project. We can install amazing art piece at the cancer unit in the hospital. The hospital setting is a very stressful setting. And even our art piece, only just one small piece can create a space, just the stillness for them. Just for the moment, look at that piece and just breathe. And then you would feel, you know, maybe related to you, a memory at the summer camp, or a memory with a birthday party, or somebody. Just give you the hope and the courage to move on, to live. We don't always get to see, as artists, our artwork making a difference in this kind of firsthand way. We know that artwork is meaningful and powerful if you read a book or you hear a song. But to see a space transformed in real time and see that immediate impact on people is such a huge benefit to students. This is an incredible opportunity as artists that I don't think students who go to school in arts universities would get outside of a smaller community like this. To have your artwork adopted into a public art collection or a public health space like this is a huge opportunity that usually only happens for mid-career and professional artists. There's so much benefits to having specifically local artists and students. It's such a calming environment and brings comfort to patients and their families. And it also highlights our students and a lot of talent that we have locally. So it's a mutually beneficial relationship, for sure. It's been a welcome distraction from what a lot of patients are going through and also just brings them a sense of comfort and calm in a challenging time. It's quite unique and much needed for our community as we don't really have a lot of artwork in the hospital. And this was bringing a much needed element of visual stimulation and comfort.
