The technology's developers aim to expand its reach, including to remote areas, and to enable personalized medicine through long-term health data collection.

AI is also being applied in agriculture, where it helps detect crop diseases and guide farmers. At the African Education Trust Fund Conference on AI in Accra, leaders from across the continent discussed boosting AI literacy in schools and promoting locally developed solutions. Experts highlighted the need for Africa to control its AI journey to protect its data and digital future, and noted the continent's historical contributions to mathematics and innovation.

In November, Accra hosted the African Education Trust Fund Conference on AI, drawing tech and education leaders from across the continent. Their mission? Boost AI literacy in schools and champion locally developed solutions. Experts stress that Africa must own its AI journey to safeguard its data and digital future. We are in a brave new world where machines are getting ready. The owners of the machines, those who created the machines, are getting ready to control the world. They are already controlling the world through financial instruments and through all kinds of other security devices, coding devices, which gives them power. Yes, we got involved using robotics and machine learning for Africa's benefit, for peaceful uses. Across Africa, AI is gaining ground. Young innovators are acquiring tech skills to build solutions tailored to the continent's unique needs. Experts believe Africa is already a hotbed of innovation and must keep pushing to stay globally competitive. Africa is the birthplace of AI. Most people don't realize that AI is based on algorithms, is based on fractals, is based, simply put, on mathematics. And the birthplace of mathematics is Africa.
