Fournier returns to City Hall for her second term with those issues in mind. Along with the excitement of her re-election, she also has some personal changes on the horizon. She announced she will be mairesse in the spring of 2026. That's when she will be a new mom. And a victory for another young mayor. CBC News projected Stéphane Boyer is to be re-elected in Laval with a commanding lead over his opponents. Infrastructure and security were top of mind for voters in that race. And Quebec City voters gave another progressive mayor a second term. Bruno Marchand is projected to be re-elected. Housing, homelessness and a push for a tramway were his key priorities. All these mayors were on the same page as outgoing Montreal mayor Valérie Plante. Montreal's mayor-elect, sorry, Martinez-Ferrada, leads Ensemble Montréal, a party with a very different vision. So it remains to be seen how all these mayors will work together in the province on the key issues that directly affect their voters.
