Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that a peace plan to address the ongoing conflict with Russia is about 90% complete, with key documents nearly finalized. Zelenskyy is seeking international backing for the plan, including support from Canada and upcoming discussions with Donald Trump in Florida. 

The proposed plan would see Ukrainian and Russian forces withdraw from certain areas to create a demilitarized zone monitored by international forces, contingent on security guarantees from the U.S., NATO, and Europe. Russia has yet to formally respond to the proposal, and options such as increased sanctions or military aid remain under consideration if the plan is rejected.

He also said he's heading to Florida Sunday for a meeting with Donald Trump. For the first time, Zelensky appears willing to pull his military back from areas of the eastern Donetsk still under Kyiv's control. But in exchange, Russia would have to move its forces back the same distance, essentially creating a demilitarized zone on the front lines monitored by an international force. The new plan requires security guarantees by the U.S., NATO, and Europe. The Ukrainians are only willing to make these compromises if they can be assured by President Trump that the Ukrainians will be protected. Russia's only response so far? Slow but steady progress. They're playing a game. They're stringing President Trump along. This will become clear when they reject it. And then again, the question for President Trump is how does he react? If that happens, Trump does have some options, including more sanctions. He can also provide Ukraine with the Tomahawk missiles it's been asking for.
