This surge is attributed to both growing global demand—over 2 billion cups consumed daily—and environmental factors. As more forests are cleared for coffee plantations, local rainfall decreases, which can lead to crop failures and further price hikes. These combined pressures are making coffee more expensive and could turn it into a luxury item for many consumers.
