Minnesota State Sen. John Hoffman has been released from a Minnesota hospital's intensive care unit more than three weeks after being the target of what was called a politically motivated shooting.

Minnesota State Senator John Hoffman has been released from a hospital's intensive care unit and transferred to a rehabilitation facility as he continues to recover from a shooting attack. The attack, which occurred in June, resulted in the deaths of State Representative Melissa Hortman, her husband, and their dog. 

The suspect, Vance Belter, was apprehended after a 43-hour manhunt and is now facing federal and state charges, including murder, stalking, and weapons offenses. Hoffman's family has shared a photo of him leaving the hospital as he begins the next phase of his recovery.

Hoffman is continuing to recover from the brutal shooting attack in June by Vance Belter, who was arrested after a 43-hour manhunt. The coordinated attack took the lives of fellow lawmaker Minnesota State Representative Melissa Hortman, her husband, and their dog. Belter is facing federal and state charges, including murder, stalking, and weapons offenses.
