Let's bring in CBS News Medical Contributor, that's Dr. Selene Gounder, who's Editor-at-Large for Public Health at KFF. Good morning to you, Dr. Selene. Good morning. To me, unless you're going through this or know someone who is, chances are you haven't heard of this before. What is it exactly? So chronic venous insufficiency. So insufficiency sounds like insufficient, meaning that the veins are not working as well as they normally would be. They're not returning the blood to the heart as would normally be the case, maybe because the valves are damaged or they're weak, and so you get a backup of blood in the lower legs, which is why we saw the swelling around his ankles. It sounds bad. It sounds and looks pretty serious, is it? It really depends on how advanced the condition is. So some of the early symptoms might be just swelling, but if you do have this for a long period of time, it can cause skin damage, it can cause open wounds, and even blood clots. How do you manage it? Well, it's usually pretty conservative. So things like compression stockings, putting your legs up, calf exercises to help pump the blood back up, and then finally weight loss and making sure you take good care of your skin to prevent complications. Hey, while you're here on another subject, the ACA health insurance premium is in that marketplace up 15% next year. What's going on there? Yeah, there are a couple of things that are driving this. So one are the Trump tariffs. So a lot of things get imported from overseas, China, for example, a lot of our supplies come from, so those tariffs will drive up some of the healthcare costs. And then secondly, Congress is not renewing the enhanced ACA subsidies tax rebates. And so as a result, people will see their health insurance costs go up come next year. ACA, Affordable Care Act.
