AAA is forecasting the busiest end-of-year holiday travel period ever, with over 122 million Americans expected to travel during a nearly 14-day stretch. Air travel is projected to rise by 2.3%, with average round-trip airfare increasing by 7% to nearly $900. Most travelers will be driving, with gas prices falling below $3 per gallon for the first time in four years, benefiting the 109 million expected road travelers.

The Transportation Security Administration recently screened a record number of passengers, and airlines report smooth operations since the end of the government shutdown. Top travel destinations include Florida, California, Hawaii, Mexico, Italy, and Australia, with the busiest travel days anticipated to be the weekend before Christmas.

I think you just, you know, kind of plan ahead and just go with the flow and whatever happens happens. But it's been pretty good lately. While the number of flyers is expected to jump by 2.3%. So is the price. The average round trip ticket is up 7% to nearly $900. That jump comes just weeks after the busiest day at airport checkpoints ever. The T. S.
