The conflict, which has persisted in cycles for over a century, continues to separate families and leave civilians enduring hardship as diplomatic solutions remain elusive.

As Thailand and Cambodia clash once again, little progress has been made towards a diplomatic solution. This is Richa. His family ties stretch across the border into Cambodia. Ties the conflict has trained. I have relatives in Cambodia. But because of this, we've cut off contact. We've been apart for about 10 years now. We used to talk on the phone. But because of this war, I've stopped calling. In Thailand, makeshift shelters have sprung up. In schools and temples. We're behind the front line. We're managing well, but I want it to end. I miss my pets. On the other side of the border, displacement shelters look different. This camp in Cambodia holds around 10,000 people, in a country that is much poorer than Thailand. It's so hard to live here. To live in a tent like this. We can't sleep much. We don't have enough materials like mats, mosquito netting, the blankets to cover up from the cold weather, or even enough food. These drone footage shows Thai artillery striking border towns in Cambodia. Thailand maintains there is no room for negotiations, insisting Bangkok did not initiate the clashes. Cambodia's defence ministry counters that its forces had no choice but to respond, accusing Thailand of shelling civilian districts, an allegation Thailand rejects. This border dispute dates back more than a century, resurfacing in cycles of ceasefires and fresh attacks. The most recent truce collapsed within months. For these Thai cousins, this cycle has repeated for as long as they can remember. I sometimes cry thinking about it. Why are Thais and Cambodians, who are like brothers, fighting? I don't understand. With neither side willing to step back, civilians are left with the same choice they've had for decades. Wait and endure.
