He noted that many veterans are overlooked by top defense contractors due to high competition, despite possessing valuable skills such as grit and adaptability.

Seven Eagle Group has launched initiatives including a mentorship network and a veteran-focused job platform, Seven Eagle Connect, which streamlines connections between veterans and employers. The organization also leverages the DoD Skill Bridge program to facilitate trial employment periods, and hosts daily live-streamed sessions to provide mentorship and direct job opportunities.

Let's welcome the leader of an organization that's worked with more than 8,000 veterans and active duty service members, helping them navigate one of the most difficult challenges after the uniform, the transition into the civilian workforce. Joining me now, the CEO of Seven Eagle Group. We saw you for just a second there earlier in the show, retired U.S. Air Force Master Sergeant Tyler Grant. Thanks for being here. Thanks so much for having me, Rick. I appreciate it. Master Sergeant, I read about your organization, Seven Eagle Group, which focuses on community, offers a nationwide mentorship program, a network of executives, hiring managers, and successful vets across all industries. Tell me about the unique challenges veterans face when trying to find a job and how you're stepping up to help. Yeah, absolutely. So a lot of times what I see in our space is that veterans apply for the top two or three defense contractors and then they either get ignored or ghosted for whatever reason. There's so many applicants to those jobs and those companies that sometimes that talent just slips through the cracks. So we just try to help the veterans realize that there's 30 million other companies out there in the U.S. that would really value the opportunity to meet with them and bring them onto their team. And today, President Trump said the unemployment rate for veterans fell by 26%. Now, I know PTSD is a big hurdle for some who are civilian life, but vets also possess unique skills and leadership qualities. Many of them become CEOs of those 30 million companies you told me about. Tell me more about those qualities that veterans bring. So I think the two biggest ones that have really been resonating with me over the last couple weeks is really just grit and adaptability. So all the veterans that come through our doors at Seven Eagle, they'll run through a brick wall for your company. They'll go to the ends of the earth, they'll do what it takes to help your company succeed because that's what they were doing in the uniform. Doing exactly what was needed to be done to accomplish the mission and then adaptability. We might not all have the exact skills necessary to accomplish the job that they're trying to do on the civilian side. It doesn't translate perfectly, but we'll be adaptable and we'll learn quickly how to take those unique skill sets that we learned in the military and apply them to that new civilian job. In my experience, they are not quitters. You can count on them to finish a task. Now, I know you've developed a LinkedIn meets Indeed platform tailored to veterans. How is that changing the job market for the men and women who serve? So it's been incredibly impactful. We actually launched Seven Eagle Connect back in April and what it's able to do is, almost like you said, it's a veteran-focused fusion of LinkedIn and Indeed and the social media aspect of it, but it's streamlining connecting veterans with employment and it's making it easier for employers to quickly find the right talent and add them to their team. And the cool part is we're leveraging the DoD Skill Bridge program to where companies are saving about $15,000 to $20,000 per hire while the military allows the service member to participate with an employer unpaid for the first three to six months while they test drive them out and get those hiring opportunities in. Tyler Grant, you're doing great work. I know you have a podcast too, right? Can you share with viewers how they can find you? Yeah, absolutely. So we actually run two separate Zoom calls every single day that are live streamed on YouTube, Facebook, and LinkedIn. And during those calls, we actually bring on four to five executives at companies across America every single day to really just pour advice and mentorship and talk about a lot of them are veterans as well. So they're talking about their military experience, their transition out of the military, and how they found success. And a lot of times my favorite part about it is that they're saying, hey, let me connect you with our hiring manager, our head of recruiting, or our talent acquisition team. And they're connecting them with job opportunities. So it's a really great face-to-face opportunity to get in front of the right people that are looking for the talent. Good for you, Tyler Grant.
