As uncertainty grows, some Venezuelans are fleeing to neighboring countries, while Caracas remains tense as the world awaits further developments.

Similar scenes are playing out in Chile, Libertad! Libertad! Libertad! Peru, Libertad! Libertad! Libertad! and other countries where millions of Venezuelans have settled after escaping violence, economic collapse, and political repression, all under Maduro's regime. But the way Maduro was captured by American forces on Venezuelan soil in the middle of the night and whisked away to the United States has some international leaders on edge. The leaders of Colombia, Brazil, Mexico, Guatemala, and Uruguay have all criticized the U.S. strikes. We condemn this intervention. Mexico's president condemned the attack, saying it goes against the country's constitution and the United Nations Charter. And an unacceptable attack on international law. The Cuban president said the attack goes against international law. I can be absolutely clear that we were not involved in that. We should all uphold international law. U.S. allies like British Prime Minister Keir Starmer distancing his government from the attack and the French government also saying the Americans violated the principles of international law. Adding to the concern, this declaration from U.S. President Donald Trump. We are going to run the country until such time as we can do a safe, proper, and judicious transition. This expert watching from Toronto says Latin American leaders are right to be cautious of the U.S. In the American mind, in the Washington circles, they consider Latin America as their backyard and they're going to act on it. Maduro supporters also took to the streets. Not only on the streets of Venezuela's capital, Viva, viva Maduro! but in major Western cities like London and Rome, warning of escalating violence leading to war as Trump refuses to rule out American boots on the ground. We are ready to stage a second and much larger attack. Some Venezuelans are crossing over the border to Colombia amid the uncertainty. While in Caracas, the streets are silent.
