The U.S has launched strikes on sites inside Venezuela, including military facilities in a campaign against the regime of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.

Former Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro and his wife Celia Flores were captured and transported to New York by U.S. law enforcement officials. Authorities are handling the case as a major drug kingpin bust, with the couple processed at the Drug Enforcement Administration headquarters.

Maduro arrived in New York under heavy guard, was flown by helicopter to Manhattan for booking, and will be held at a federal detention facility in Brooklyn. He is expected to make his first court appearance for arraignment in the near future.

After this morning's capture, U.S. law enforcement officials flew Maduro and his wife to New York to be processed at the headquarters of the Drug Enforcement Administration. Yeah, Tony, we are here outside the DEA offices in Manhattan waiting for Nicolas Maduro to arrive. Federal authorities tell us this is being handled like the bust of a drug kingpin. Meanwhile, a strongman Nicolas Maduro and his wife Celia Flores arrived in New York late this afternoon, stepping onto American soil chained and shackled, surrounded by a small army of FBI agents and heavily armed DEA officers. The couple is being flown by helicopter to Manhattan, where they will be booked and fingerprinted. Maduro will be held at the federal detention facility in Brooklyn, the same facility that once held Sean Diddy Combs and currently holds UnitedHealthcare accused killer Luigi Mangione the former Venezuelan president, could make his first appearance in court for an arraignment as soon as Monday.
