In Moscow, officials talk of steady progress. For the people here, it's a slow, grinding war, where every street, every trench bears the cost. Far from the front, a different kind of battle. Ukraine's justice and energy ministers have been embroiled in a multi-million dollar corruption scandal in the energy sector. A scandal that's enraged the public already living with blackouts and freezing homes. I was angry after the shelling. Our energy system isn't protected. Now we find out there's corruption, it's shameful. Some suffer, and others line their pockets. This is corruption, and it must be eradicated. President Volodymyr Zelensky moved fast, calling for resignations of both the justice and energy ministers, and backing investigators leading the case. There's a fear this scandal could engulf the entire government. First of all, there should be maximum transparency in the energy sector, in all processes, absolutely. I support every investigation by law enforcement bodies, by anti-corruption bodies. We support it. It is absolutely clear, and the same for every position. The suspended justice minister says he'll fight the allegations in court. But for many Ukrainians, patience is wearing thin. They're tired of war, and tired of corruption. In Mainograd, homes lie in ruins, smoke hangs over shattered streets. This is what the war looks like, as Kiev tries to hold the front and clean up the rot within.
