His wife has called for his release, following the collapse of his military trial after a Supreme Court ruling, with both Biseje and his aide now facing treason charges before the High Court.

Notably absent from the upcoming ballots is veteran opposition leader Dr Kiza Biseje, who has spent more than a year behind bars. His wife has now issued an emotional plea for justice and his release. Biseje and his aide were arrested in Nairobi in November of 2024. Their military trial in Uganda collapsed after a Supreme Court ruling declared civilian trials in military courts unconstitutional. Now both men face treason charges before the High Court.
