Federal agents were involved in a shooting in Portland, Oregon, which left two people injured, according to the Portland Police Department. The FBI has stated it is investigating the incident, and a now-deleted social media post initially indicated Border Patrol agents were involved, though this has not been confirmed.

The incident comes shortly after a similar event in Minneapolis involving a federal agent. Portland's mayor has called for ICE to halt operations in the city until a full investigation is completed. Authorities are awaiting further information from the Department of Homeland Security.

Following breaking news this evening, FBI Portland says it is investigating a shooting involving federal agents in a now deleted post on X. The agency said two people were wounded in that shooting. CBS News correspondent Nydia Cavazos joining us live now. So, Nydia, what are we learning about this shooting? Julie, we were very much in the early stages of gathering more information into this incident. But what we do know as of this moment is, according to the Portland Police Department, and this is that two people have been shot, were shot earlier this afternoon, and federal agents were involved in this incident. Now, CBS News is out to the Department of Homeland Security security, trying to gather more information, confirm exactly who was involved in which agencies. Now, a couple of minutes ago, as you mentioned, the FBI division did make a post saying the Border Patrol agents were involved in the shooting, but that post has since been deleted and taken off of their social media platforms until we are awaiting more information. Now, what we also know is that this incident in Portland, Oregon, comes on the heels of what we saw in Minneapolis, where a federal agent was also involved in a shooting and, as we know, killed a 37 year old woman. Now again, this is very much in the early stages, but Portland's mayor did issue a statement after this incident, and he is calling on ICE to end all operations until a full investigation can be completed.
