Mamdani, who's not a communist, tried to capitalize on the president's 60 Minutes remarks, posting what he called Trump's endorsement of Cuomo and offering his congratulations. New Yorkers have a right to afford this city that we all love. The New York State Assemblyman's campaigned on concerns with the cost of big city living. He's vowed to free some rents and make city buses free. He's also drawn scrutiny for past criticism of Israel that some critics call anti-Semitic. We asked him about the president. What is your message to him here in the closing days? If he wants to actually deliver on the campaign he ran to deliver cheaper groceries and a lower cost of living, I am there. If he wants, however, to attack New Yorkers, that's not a conversation I'm willing to have. On Tuesday, we're also watching two races for governor in New Jersey and Virginia, and as California votes for or against a plan to redraw its congressional map. All politics is local, guys, but the results of these ones might give the parties a sense of what to expect going into next year's midterm elections. A whole lot on the line.
