The critical issue of the Zangazur Corridor, a proposed transport route designed to connect Azerbaijan's mainland with its enclave, which borders Turkey via Armenian territory, remains. Armenia and Azerbaijan have been sworn enemies for decades, going to war twice over the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region, which has killed and displaced thousands.
