A tourist ferry carrying 89 passengers capsized off the coast of Bali after being hit by heavy waves. Video footage showed passengers clinging to the vessel and jumping into the ocean as nearby boats assisted in the rescue. 

Despite the chaos and panic among those on board, all passengers were accounted for and no deaths were reported. Some passengers, including a solo traveler from Pennsylvania, sustained minor injuries but expressed gratitude for their survival.

Desperation on a sinking ferry as panicked passengers race to escape. 89 passengers had set sail off the coast of Bali from a popular beach spot when it was suddenly slammed by heavy waves, forcing the ferry to take on water. As passengers rush to find an exit, a nearby boat rescues as many as it can. Video footage captures many clinging to the ferry as it tips over, while others jump into the ocean. Break the window. It unfolded so quickly, and there were so many people that couldn't swim. And everyone just turned on each other, essentially, and it was just pure panic mode. The 24-year-old Pennsylvanian native was celebrating her birthday on a solo trip across Indonesia. She said she was left with bruises and stitches, but grateful to be alive.
