Two tornadoes were confirmed in the central west region of New South Wales, accompanied by heavy rain, hail, and strong winds. The storms resulted in debris scattered across roads and caused some property damage, including one house losing its roof.

Most of the destruction was limited to bushland and paddocks, with residential areas largely spared. Despite the intensity of the storms, there were no widespread reports of severe damage to homes or buildings, and the event has become a significant topic of discussion in local communities.

Yeah, well, there was not just one, but two confirmed tornadoes yesterday out in the Central West, and maybe even rumours of a third one. Bringing with them plenty of rain, hail and strong winds and leaving debris all over the road. Luckily, we got a big-time operator on the case. The reason we saw so many tornadoes is we had a cluster of thunderstorms all lumped together in central New South Wales, most of which were supercells, which develop when you've got a very unstable atmosphere, and wind shear, which is wind speed and direction changing through the lower part of the atmosphere. Most of the damage was done out in the bush and in the paddocks, with homes and buildings largely escaping the brunt of the powerful storm. Seems to be surprisingly, we seem to have avoided a lot of damage. We have had one house that's lost its roof. My wife actually was driving a school bus at the time and she had to pull over on the side of the road and she said the noise was just phenomenal. A fright, but ultimately a spectacle that's made this storm the talk of many towns. Taylor Ryan, 10 News.
