With a focus on reproductive freedom, protesters voiced opposition against another potential presidential term for Donald Trump. The rally echoes sentiments from the Women's March, which began shortly after Trump's inauguration in 2017. 

Since the overturning of a long-standing precedent by a Supreme Court with several Trump appointees, the discourse on abortion rights has intensified. Protesters expressed their concerns about the lack of access to abortion care and healthcare in general, with instances of dire consequences for women. Vice President Harris has prioritized reproductive rights in her campaign, gaining significant support from female voters.

Political analysts have pointed out a widening gender gap in American politics, with abortion rights being a significant factor. While there is considerable backing for Harris among women, other topics like support for transgender rights remain contentious, especially among Trump supporters. The rally marks continued efforts by Harris and her advocates to prevent a shift away from progressive reproductive policies and promote women's autonomy in the political landscape.

They are Vice President Kamala Harris' strongest supporters. Women showing up in force just days before the election. A woman's place is in the House. The White House! Determined that Donald Trump not get another term as president. We won't go back. We absolutely will not go back to a time where folks did not have access to abortion care, did not have access to the health care that they needed. And we won't go back to another Trump presidency. It was in 2017, one day after then-President Trump's inauguration, that the first Women's March took place here in Washington and across the country. In the years since, a Supreme Court dominated by Trump appointees overturned 50 years of precedent, ruling there is no constitutional right to abortion. Women are dying. People are not getting health care. They are miscarrying. They are dying. And we just had another death in Texas of a teen girl gone to three emergency rooms. Kamala Harris has made reproductive rights a centerpiece of her campaign for the White House, an issue that really resonates with this crowd. And most polls show that Harris has a double-digit lead with women voters over Trump. Political pollster Greg Strimple says there is a growing gender gap in American politics. Abortion is kind of the dividing line in American politics on that. And so there's no doubt that part of the reason that she and Democrats are doing better with women right now is because of the issue of abortion. But abortion isn't the only issue on the minds of women, particularly those who support Trump. How can you be a champion for women's rights when you're taking away opportunities from biological women and giving them to transgendered ones? In the 2016 presidential election, more white women voted for Trump than Hillary Clinton. We're potentially going to break the glass ceiling and potentially going to go backwards. And we're here to make sure we don't go back. But Harris and her supporters are campaigning hard to make sure that doesn't happen again and convince them that Trump is a threat to women's autonomy as well as democracy.
