Fighting between Thailand and Cambodia has entered its third week after the collapse of a ceasefire, resulting in the displacement of over 600,000 people on the Cambodian side and more than 300,000 on the Thai side, according to Cambodian officials. Defence and military officials from both countries are meeting to discuss a framework for de-escalation, with Cambodia proposing a ceasefire and Thailand setting conditions including de-mining and a halt to Cambodian fire.

Despite ongoing talks, artillery exchanges continue along the border, leaving the displaced population in uncertainty as they wait for a resolution. Progress is being measured by periods without explosions, as residents hope for peace and the chance to return home.

It's been just over two and a half weeks since the ceasefire collapsed, and fighting is entering its third week. Defence and military officials are meeting to discuss a framework towards possible de-escalation and moving towards a ceasefire. You understand Cambodia has presented its proposals for a ceasefire, but Thailand has its conditions, including de-mining and for Cambodia to stop firing first. But for people here, life is difficult. We've been displaced. According to Cambodian officials, more than 600,000 people on this side of the border have been forced from their homes. On the Thailand side of the border, over 300,000. For them, their lives are now in limbo, hinging on whether the fighting stops. Talks are ongoing, but progress here is measured by the hours passed without the sound of explosions. And we've been hearing them all day, artillery fire taking place between the two militaries. So people here are waiting, they're listening, they're watching and hoping. Because for them, peace is about more than politics. It's about the moment they'll finally be able to go home. Some of the stabbed victims remain in serious condition. A 38-year-old man was arrested for alleged attempted murder at the factory, authorities said.
