After search and recovery was halted this past weekend, rescue crews need to prepare for more heavy rain and potential flooding on Monday across the Texas Hill Country. Flood watches are in effect as multiple rounds of slow-moving storms will impact some of the hardest hit areas again.

Flood watches remain in effect as slow-moving storms are forecast to impact vulnerable areas, including Kerrville, the Guadalupe River, Horseshoe Bay, Marble Falls, Travis County, and Georgetown.

The storms are expected to affect regions between Austin and Houston, shifting up the I-45 corridor and impacting communities such as College Station and Texas A&M. Authorities remain concerned about the rainfall rates and the duration of these storms, which could exacerbate flooding in already hard-hit areas.

Overall, you got kind of two little areas to watch. We'll focus on this larger one down here in the more vulnerable area of Texas, and you can see some of that slides to the north and back fills, which means we've got more heavy rain to get through as all of that is moving through. Don't close your eyes to the big storms that could be possible between Austin and Houston. That will then shift up the I-45 corridor impacting College Station and Texas A&M and some of those areas. But again, this hill country is the spot that we're really concerned about going to the afternoon and look at this. I mean, we're still talking about very heavy rain over Kerrville, over the Guadalupe River, of course, over places like Horseshoe Bay, Marble Falls, Travis County, Lake Travis could be impacted by this as well. We know we got impacted there as well as Georgetown, which is in Williamson County here, just north of Austin. So that entire threshold or that entire area is going to be concerning for the rainfall rates and the amount of the longevity, how much time it's going to be coming down. The Santa Ana River in Santa Ana, Texas, again, looking at where it's currently sitting and how it'll fluctuate a little bit. And it all depends, Lynette, on those rainfall rates and how long we deal with that heavy rain.
