Three teenage boys will face court after allegedly robbing a 14-year-old at knifepoint in Sydney’s west. Police say the boy was threatened with a machete at a Rooty Hill bus stop on Wednesday before the trio stole his mobile phone.

Three teenagers have been charged after an alleged armed robbery at a bus stop in Rooty Hill, New South Wales. Police allege the group, including a 16-year-old unlicensed driver and two 15-year-old passengers, threatened a 14-year-old boy with a machete and demanded his mobile phone. The incident was brief, and the alleged victim later approached the car and handed over an item, believed to be his phone, which was later recovered nearby. Police located the suspects' vehicle at a shopping centre car park, where they allegedly found a machete and small amounts of cannabis and methamphetamine. The teenagers were arrested and charged with robbery in company, unlicensed driving, and possessing a prohibited drug. They appeared in Parramatta Children's Court, where the older two pleaded not guilty and all were granted conditional bail. The case is scheduled to return to court in the coming weeks.

White car hurriedly just parked on the side and they looked like a few young boys. After the 20-second long interaction, the 16-year-old unlicensed driver and his 15-year-old passengers run back to the car but don't drive off. The alleged victim, who's believed to not know the group, approaches the vehicle and passes an item through the window before going their separate ways. Police say that phone was found nearby and just before 5pm this same Mitsubishi Lancer was clocked by police at a shopping centre car park, where a search allegedly uncovered the machete that'll be forensically examined and a small amount of cannabis and methamphetamine. It's very unusual, like incidents can happen anywhere but I've never seen or sighted anything like that sort of thing here on the street. The boys were arrested and between them charged with robbery in company, unlicensed driving and possessing prohibited drug. They appeared here before Parramatta Children's Court today where the elders pleaded not guilty. They were all granted conditional bail and the case will be heard in a fortnight and again in six weeks time. Olivia Blunden, 10 News.
