The legal dispute has reached the Supreme Court, which recently heard the president's plea, with Chicago required to respond soon. The case has sparked controversy, with opponents expressing concern about the use of federal force and the potential invocation of the Insurrection Act, which would allow the president to bypass state and judicial authority.

This is Broadview, just to give you some context of where we are. We're about a half-hour drive from Chicago, west of Chicago. See that building over there with the flag, with the agents on the roof, the mast? That is the migrant detention center that has really become the focal point for two things. Protests against Donald Trump's migrant crackdown and also his attempts to put the National Guard here on Chicago's streets. Now, it's fairly quiet at the moment. There's a bit of music over there. It's a unicorn that's just turned up down there, but it's not always this way. There have been protests here for weeks, sometimes violent. The president claims it is so bad here, he needs to bring the National Guard in. It's like a war zone. The word rebellion is being used, and that is key, because a rebellion allows the president to take control of the troops who are in town from Illinois and other states, but they can't actually do anything. And that is because the courts keep on blocking President Trump's attempts, saying a protest is not necessarily a rebellion. But now that could all be about to change, because legally speaking, this is going all the way to the top. The Supreme Court, the highest in the land and conservative leaning, heard the president's plea on Friday. Chicago has to respond on Monday. Footage like this has outraged opponents. A 19-year-old chased through a pharmacy and pinned to the ground by federal agents, despite his relatives yelling he is a U.S. citizen. A TV producer arrested nearby after agents claimed she threw objects at them. She is suing, saying she did nothing wrong. And this local pastor praying for the agents on the roof, who then seemingly shot him in the head with a pepper bullet, knocking him to the ground. So we have Brian with us. Brian was in that video, actually helped the pastor when he was hit. Supreme Court's getting involved here. How do you think all of this is going to turn out realistically? I mean, it's incredibly concerning and scary to have the Supreme Court involved and basically seemingly doing whatever the president kind of wants them to do. So I find that very scary for sure. And I think a lot of people out here do. But even if he doesn't get his way with the Supreme Court, Donald Trump does have one other big option at his disposal. We have an insurrection act for a reason. If I had to enact it, I'd do that. The insurrection act allows the president to take control of the National Guard over the heads of governors, over the heads of the courts. But declaring an insurrection is seen as an extreme measure, effectively hitting the nuclear option. Let's ask these guys what they think about it. I mean, are you concerned about the insurrection act being invoked? Yes, we're very concerned about the insurrection act. They've manufactured chaos in this country so that they could do something like that. And then democracy as we know it is over in this world, in this country. Thank you very much. And for a president who says he is simply fulfilling an election promise, he may ultimately get his way, regardless of what all of these people think.
