The president now says the US will send the two men back to their home countries of Ecuador and Colombia for detention and prosecution, eliminating a diplomatic and legal dilemma over their fate. On the home front, no end in sight to the nearly three-week-old government shutdown, or the blame game. It's a Democrat shutdown, it's a Schumer shutdown. We are in day 18 of the Trump-Republican shutdown. The effects are deepening. More than 7,000 federal workers filed for unemployment benefits last week, according to the Wall Street Journal. Despite going without a government paycheck themselves, some furloughed federal workers like Sabrina Islam Rahman are turning out to support others. I've been going through sort of a rollercoaster of emotions. It's been tough. This food drive outside the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, was set up around this weekend's No King's protest in the capital region. One of the things that we are seeing and hearing from affected workers is that they are hungry. Amid the ongoing shutdown, the Trump administration is pausing and threatening to cancel $11 billion worth of infrastructure funding for projects in Democratic-run cities. Jerrika?
