The governor went on to say that Minnesota's State Emergency Operations Center has been activated with civil unrest expected in the aftermath of the shooting. We have not seen that thus far today. WALLS has also issued an order to prepare the National Guard, if needed, to assist with public safety and emergency response operations. Again, we have not seen that tonight. A similar incident took place in Chicago recently. There, a woman was shot by federal agents. She survived. Our Paul Bloom spoke to her attorney, and as Paul told us earlier, he sees direct parallels to what happened in Minneapolis and the administration's response to label the encounter as an act of domestic terrorism. Yeah, some parallels here. We thought of an important story to share. Of course, Chicago has had its own DHS immigration crackdown known as Operation Midway Blitz. In the middle of those federal operations over the last few months, there was a shooting involving vehicles. It was alleged that bystanders, citizen observers, were in a convoy attempting to ram or box in federal agents along the streets of Chicago. According to court filings, we have a border patrol agent unable to move his vehicle, got out, got out of the vehicle and opened fire on a woman by the name of Marimar Martinez. Now, she was struck five times and badly injured. She was also charged with a federal crime. She was charged with forcibly assaulting the officer with her car. There she is. But as more evidence emerged, including body camera footage, the prosecutors, federal prosecutors in Illinois, dropped the charges before this case ever went to trial. We spoke to her attorney earlier this afternoon. I think as you saw in Marimar's case, I mean, what the government puts out is is objectively not true in these cases. They're still labeling her a domestic terrorist, even though the charges have all been dropped by the attorney's office. So in this case, I would I would tell everybody what I told them in our case. I would be very suspect of any press release that is put out right now by DHS. It is something that unfortunately, both Marimar and myself knew was going to happen. We knew it when we read the text messages from one of the agents saying he's looking forward to the next round of what he called FAFO. So it was just a matter of which next round. And unfortunately, Minneapolis happened to be next up. And it will continue to happen until DHS takes a hard look at how they're training their agents. And the attorney there also pointing to federal use of force policies about firing at fleeing vehicles. They're typically not allowed to. But again, the issue of did that officer fear for his life? Kristi Noem just said it now in the last hour. She absolutely believes he did. He followed his training. You know, he was accusing, you know, this attorney argues that some of these officers that have been surged into these communities, Chicago, Minneapolis, that maybe they are not up to the full training of doing this type of immigration enforcement in urban and metropolitan settings. But, you know, it's an instructive, you know, opinion. Again, his client shot initially charged, you know, the federal government went after her hard. But once all the evidence came out in a court of law, the U.S. Attorney's Office dropped the charges before it ever went to trial. Just something to think about as this case plays out. We hear from all sides in this matter.
