Police in Ohio are actively searching for a suspect in the murder of Spencer Tepe, a 37-year-old dentist, and his 39-year-old wife, Monique, who were found dead in their home. Surveillance video from the neighborhood shows a person in a dark hooded sweater and light pants walking through a snow-lined alley on the night of the incident.

The couple's two young children were present in the home during the crime but were unharmed. Friends discovered the bodies during a wellness check and called authorities. Police found no signs of forced entry or a weapon at the scene, but recovered three spent nine millimeter casings. The investigation remains ongoing as a double homicide.

Police in Ohio are asking for leads in the search for a man they believe murdered a young couple in their home on December 30th. Correspondent Chanel calls been monitoring the story from our newsroom in New York City. Chanel, what do we know so far about this case? Yeah, just such a horrible story. Liz, more than a week after this has happened after this young dentist and his wife were killed inside their home, the killer is still out on the loose. Police, though, are hoping that some newly released video, some surveillance video will help them to solve this crime. So I want to show you that video now. This is surveillance video that was taken in their neighborhood. And what you see there is a person wearing a dark sweater with a hood pulled over their head and light colored pants. They seem to be walking through this snow lined alley in the dark, kind of keeping their head down. Police have not identified who they believe this person is. But I can tell you that hours after this video was captured, we understand that 37 year old Spencer Tepe and his 39 year old wife, Monique, they were both found dead inside their home. Liz, we also know that their two Children ages four and one were also inside the home apparently when this happened. But I can report that thankfully they were physically unharmed. You can actually hear their voices in the background of a 911 call. It's really difficult to even listen to Liz. That happened when some of their friends came over to their house to a wellness check on them and then found their bodies there. They phoned police for help. Take a listen. What's going on there? Um, there's a body. Our friend wasn't, uh, insurance phone. We just did a wellness check. We just came here and, um, he appears dead blood. He's laying next to his bed off of his bed in this blood. I can't get closer to see more than that. So many unanswered questions, Liz. But I can tell you, police are saying there were no signs of forced entry. They also were not able to find a weapon at the scene of the crime inside the tepees home. But they do say that they found they found three spent nine millimeter casing. So again, the investigation is still very much ongoing, but they are treating this as a double homicide. Such a horrific case. Chanel. Thanks so much for that update there.
