Residents across San Diego County are dealing with the aftermath of a recent storm that caused downed trees and roof damage. In Del Cerro, a large eucalyptus branch fell onto a home, prompting a surge of emergency calls to local roofing companies. 

Roofing professionals have been busy inspecting and repairing damage, with some homes requiring only minor fixes and no emergency tarping ahead of more expected rain. In La Mesa, significant roof damage was found, but the structures were deemed stable enough to withstand additional rainfall until full repairs can be made.

From broken roof tiles to down trees, residents across the county is still dealing with the impacts of one storm while bracing for more rain out of nowhere. Let's just say there were a lot of jokes on whether or not Santa had maybe come early when winds broke off a massive eucalyptus branch in their backyard, slamming it into their roof. The call about the roof damage phones just went crazy. Probably had about 70 on Christmas Eve. One of many Dana Logsons roofing company received in a two hour span on Christmas Eve. Two days later. Crane was used to remove the branch from the roof. Before logs and climbed under the roof to assess the damage, the way the tree hit, we only have. About 65 tile broken instead of hundreds after a little more inspection. The underlayment still good. I just checked all that logs and discovering emergency tarping won't be needed to protect the roof ahead of more rain an hour later at a home in La Mesa. I watched as logs and performed another inspection. This is a lot of damage at this house. Winds peeled off part of a flat roof over the patio onto a section of shingles and solar panels. After taking a closer look, we're not going to do tarping. This will get through another rain or so, and then we can get an estimate to put this thing back together. Back in Del Cerro, emergency tarping won't be needed. Logs and has his side set on damaged tiles. We don't want these falling off in the next wind. Head of another storm. Michael Chen, ABC 10 news.
