The new models feature enhanced AI functions and aim to challenge Apple's position in the premium smartphone market. Starting at around $1,900, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is lighter and slimmer compared to its predecessors, while the clamshell Galaxy Z Flip 6 starts at $1,100.

Having pioneered the foldable smartphone segment in 2019, Samsung's market share has seen a decline from 81% in 2022 to 63% in 2023, according to data from Canalys. The new Flip model offers a longer battery life, a higher resolution camera, and a vapor chamber designed to keep the phone cooler.

Samsung is also introducing new AI functions, including a listening mode for simultaneous interpretation when used with Galaxy Buds and AI search functions developed in collaboration with Alphabet's Google. 

On the accessories side, Samsung is focusing on advancing health monitoring functions with products like the Galaxy Ring. Priced just under $400, the Galaxy Ring is lightweight and capable of monitoring heart rate and stress levels continuously. It can also control a Samsung phone's camera or alarm and is waterproof for use in the shower or while swimming. Additionally, the Galaxy Watch products now come with new health features, including U.S. FDA-approved sleep apnea monitoring.

The new products will be available in South Korea, North America, and Europe starting on July 24.

Its offerings include the Galaxy Ring. At just under $400, it is light, about three grams or less. It can be worn in the shower or while swimming, and can constantly monitor heart rate and stress levels, as well as help control a Samsung phone's camera or alarm. A slew of new health functions were added to its Galaxy Watch products, too. It's now a U.S. FDA-approved monitoring device for sleep apnea. The products will be available starting on July 24 in South Korea, North America, and Europe.
