Salt Lake City police responded to a shooting incident near Paramount Avenue and 300 West, where one man sustained minor injuries after being shot in the torso. The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m., prompting authorities to close 3rd West between 17th South and 13th South northbound for the investigation.

Police stated there is no ongoing danger to the public and are actively working to identify the individual involved. No suspect is currently in custody, and the scene remains active as officers continue their investigation.

We have breaking news right now after reports of a shooting in downtown Salt Lake. FOX 13's Tina Giuliano is live on the scene right now. Tina, what information can you bring us? Good morning guys. So right here at Salt Lake City Police are really covering this whole road near Paramount Ave and 300 West. We are hearing reports that one person was shot with minor injuries now, but I have the PIO here for Salt Lake City Police, Greg Wilkins. Tell us a little bit about what happened here today. Yeah, we had a shooting this morning that occurred about 530. One male was shot in the torso. He's in good condition, minor injuries. We're going to have 3rd West shut down here between 17th South, 13th South, Northbound for probably the next hour or so. And so is there, the investigation obviously, you guys are locking this down to investigate anything that the public should be aware of, safety to them? No, no danger to the public at this point. We're working to identify the individual involved and figure out what took place this morning. So not necessarily at this point, no suspect in custody, but you guys are obviously working the scene. Right. It's an active scene. We'll figure out what happened and hopefully get this solved. Perfect. All right. Well, thank you so much, Greg.
