Bethpage Black on Long Island is hosting one of golf's most significant events, drawing top players from around the world and enthusiastic fans. The tournament began with fans arriving early to meet players and captains, who signed autographs and engaged with the crowd on the driving range before heading out to the course.

Among those attending was Anthony McBride, a longtime Long Island caddie, who expressed his excitement at seeing professional golfers up close. While the majority of fans appeared to support the home team, some, like McBride, voiced their support for the European team and star player Rory McIlroy.

The gates opened here at Bethpage Black this morning, and the fans came on in, and let's get going. Six days of golf action, and it's underway. Oh, look at all the fans waving to us right there. It's so good to see them. But you don't just wanna watch these players, you wanna meet them, you wanna get their autographs, right? The best place to do that was on the driving range as the teams started their day and then headed out to the course. The players signed autographs, the captains signed autographs, and that's where we found Anthony McBride. What a great story. He's been a caddie for 40 years on Long Island, now works here at Bethpage Black, so this was really cool for him. I'm flattered, I'm happy, because I thought I would never get the chance to see them in person. You know, I love sports, but I love golf, and I love the professional golf. Does it sound different the way they hit? Does it look different the way they hit? It sounds different, it looks different, compared to a lot of people that come here. It's a total different game. Who's gonna win? Europe. Europe. My boys on there, Rory. That's your guy. I love him. Yeah, that'll be Rory McIlroy, really the face of the European team. We didn't see too many European fans, so Rory's gonna need all the fans he could get here at Bethpage Black.
