The U.S. State Department acknowledged Kenya's contributions to peace and security in Haiti, where a Kenya-led security force is currently deployed. Discussions also touched on increasing international support for Haiti. Talks on a trade agreement between the two countries began under the Trump administration but have slowed in recent years.

Talks on a trade agreement between Nairobi and Washington began under Trump's first presidency but lost steam under Biden. A statement from the U.S. State Department said that Secretary Rubio had lauded Kenya's contributions to Haiti's peace and security. A Kenya-led security force is currently deployed in Haiti, and there have been recent proposals to increase the international support.
