The discussions also covered the ongoing ceasefire in Gaza, with both ministers expressing satisfaction at its implementation and acknowledging Morocco's role in promoting peace efforts in the region.

The ministers shared a common perspective on developments in the Middle East and discussed the Western Sahara dispute. Lavrov stated that Russia would support any solution acceptable to all parties, including Morocco's autonomy plan. Both sides expressed hope that the current ceasefire would lead to a lasting political solution for the Palestinian issue.

Morocco has traditionally played a very important role in promoting efforts to achieve a peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue, and in this regard we note the role played by His Majesty King Mohammed VI as head of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation's Jerusalem Committee. We welcome the emerging positive changes in the situation on the ground, specifically in the Palestinian territories, particularly the Gaza Strip. Bourita in turn said that both countries share a common understanding of the current developments in the Middle East. We also discussed the situation in the Middle East and we share the same vision. We appreciate President Trump's efforts to establish a ceasefire, a halt to fighting and entry of humanitarian aid. We hope all parties abide by all elements of the agreement and we hope it ushers a political horizon that creates a just and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue. Lavrov and Bourita also spoke about the dispute over Western Sahara. During a news conference on Monday, Lavrov said any solution acceptable to all parties would be satisfactory for Russia, which would include Morocco's autonomy plan.
