She insisted she would not engage in politics within ongoing investigations.

When asked about the possibility of advising on pardons for January 6 rioters, Bondi stated she would provide case-by-case advice if confirmed. Republican Senator Tom Tillis expressed his support for Bondi, indicating distrust in the narrative of blanket pardons and emphasizing the importance of accountability, especially for those who harmed police officers during the riot.

Simultaneously, Florida Senator Marco Rubio addressed inquiries regarding his nomination as Trump's Secretary of State. Rubio discussed various topics, including the situation in Ukraine. He affirmed President Trump's goal of ending hostilities in the region and received bipartisan praise from senators for his stance and qualifications in foreign policy. Rubio appears to be on an expedited path to confirmation due to the bipartisan support he has garnered.

I believe that the Justice Department must be independent and must act independently. The number one job is to enforce the law. But Democrats grilled Bondi on those baseless claims of election fraud. You have the gravitas, the stature, the intestinal fortitude to say, Donald Trump, you lost the 2020 election. Can you tell us that here today? Senator, what I can tell you is I will never play politics. You're trying to engage me in a gotcha. I won't do it. I won't play politics with any ongoing investigation. On potential pardons for January 6 rioters, Bondi said if confirmed, she'd advise the president on a case-by-case basis. Republican Senator Tom Tillis supports Bondi and opposes blanket pardons, especially for those who injured police officers. You had the narrative in there that the president is going to pardon everybody from January 6 on day one. I think it's a false narrative that we just got to speak plainly about. Meanwhile, Florida Senator Marco Rubio answered questions from his own colleagues on his nomination to be Trump's Secretary of State, speaking on a range of issues, including Ukraine. Our goal, as President Trump has stated, is he wants the dying to stop. He wants the killing to stop. And gaining praise from both Republicans and Democrats. The president made a great decision in choosing you. I'm happy to see you there. You're a thought leader in foreign policy. Rubio is on a fast track to confirmation based on that bipartisan support. And Vlad, the confirmation votes could begin as early as Inauguration Night.
