A ceremony held in Sydney, New South Wales, recognised 46 individuals for their extraordinary acts of bravery. Recipients included people who risked their lives to save others in situations such as medical emergencies, natural disasters, and animal attacks.

Among those honoured were Blake Steep, who saved his father while spearfishing, and Isaac Hammond, who rescued his fishing guide from a crocodile. The awards also acknowledged efforts to save paramedic Stephen Toga and highlighted the courage of a 12-year-old girl who sought help after a car crash. Recipients expressed humility, stating they acted without hesitation.

The youngest person recognised a 12-year-old girl who walked for kilometres to call 000 after a crash which trapped her mother and sister. From frontline responders... I fractured my neck falling through a window trying to rescue some kids inside. ..to ordinary Australians. Jacob Townsend risked his own life to help others during the Eugoura floods. He, like everyone else here, says he'd do it again in a heartbeat. Definitely, 100%. Yeah, 100%. There wouldn't be a question in my mind where I'd get in there.
