Parts of the United States, including Dallas, have experienced record-breaking temperatures and rainfall as Thanksgiving week begins. The southeast is seeing temperatures in the 70s and 80s, with some locations nearing or tying record highs.

A shift in weather patterns is expected by midweek, bringing much colder air to regions such as Minneapolis and Chicago. This change will result in temperatures dropping well below average, which could affect travel plans and packing decisions for holiday travelers.

We even saw some record breaking temperatures falling left and right. Dallas included in that it was. It was a week for Dallas. You saw record rainfall and record high temperatures, but we will see a change in the pattern through tomorrow where we're watching for record afternoon highs and even some very warm record mornings. That's mainly in the southeast, but this is the list. I mean, we've got temperatures close to the 80 degree mark from Macon degree or South Carolina to Mobile, AL where we currently have Alabama where we could tie a record of 81 today tomorrow. Same deal. We still have a lot of 70s and 80s there across the map, especially into the southeast, but even areas like Minneapolis pretty far to the north. We're experiencing above average temperatures midweek. We see a pattern change and this is just in time for the holiday. This is just in time as maybe you're traveling to some of these destinations and you've been watching the forecast. You're like, oh, 50s. I can handle that. How about midweek? All of a sudden our forecast highs in Minneapolis are only in the 20s. This is going to be about 5 to 10 degrees below average Chicago. We're going from the 50s and even the mid 50s are average high is in the 40s, so we're talking about 10 degrees above average all the sudden now our high temperatures are close to that freezing. Mark Kelly. So for a lot of people traveling, of course you want to pay attention to those temperature changes. Cause that'll make a big difference in what you need in your suitcase.
