A series of severe storms impacted Oklahoma, with an EF1 tornado causing damage and at least one injury in the city of Purcell. Local officials reported wind gusts up to 88 mph, downed trees, roof and power pole damage, and localized power outages affecting fewer than 10,000 customers. 

At least two radar-confirmed tornadoes were reported, with ongoing surveys for the second. The storm system also produced hail, and severe weather warnings extended into Kansas and north of Kansas City. The broader system is forecast to bring snow, ice, and flooding to areas from the north-central U.S. to the Great Lakes and Ohio Valley, with winter weather advisories in effect for Wisconsin and Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

We're continuing to track a busy storm pattern across the country. It's already brought some severe weather to parts of Oklahoma where an E. F. One tornado caused damage in the city of Purcell. City officials say at least one injury has been reported there. We had several severe thunderstorm warnings and tornado warnings this morning. The hours break and now the severe thunderstorm warnings are back and I do actually want to start off taking a look at the storm reports from this morning. So just to orient you, we're mainly looking at Oklahoma here up into Kansas. We have some of these wind reports breaking down what you're seeing. So all the purple, the wind reports, some of these are reporting the wind gusts, how strong it was. There was one even up to 88 miles an hour. Yeah, that'll cause some damage. And speaking of damage, some of these reports are detailing the damage trees down, roof damage, power poles down. We've seen localized power outages in Oklahoma, thankfully staying below 10,000 customers. That's what triggers it on our power outage map. That's when we start to talk about widespread power outages. But I know any of you that are part of the localized power outages, you just want the power back on. Some of those power outages were caused by at least two tornadoes. They're both radar confirmed. One of them that E. F. One that I was talking about the other one storm surveys still ongoing. Then we had some hail as well up to dime sized hail reports the rest of the evening. This is where we're zeroed in on. I know I mentioned north of Kansas City. We've had some severe thunderstorm warnings that just shows you if you're outside of this area, it's not out of the question to see some severe weather. But this is where the conditions are just gonna be right for more widespread severe weather as we go throughout the evening. And this is overnight hours as well. What are you most likely to see? Well, damaging wind gusts is the biggest threat. However, hail isolated tornadoes. We've already seen them today. Certainly not out of the question to see more as we go through tonight. Then there's the snow. I mean, I showed you it's a very large system tracking from the north central all the way down into moving into the southeast. So we've winter weather advisories for portions of Wisconsin up into the U. P. At Michigan, we're going to see some snow. We're also going to see some rain not too far from that snow, which is going to trigger some flooding, which we'll take a look at in a minute. But I just want to give you the details of the snow to start out. Most of us, if you're going to get accumulation, it's 1 to 3. But into the U. P. That's where we have our heavier snowfall totals up to a foot, which is our Accuweather local storm max. All right, now let's take a look at all of this on future radar. Really time it out for you. Give you the big picture of how all of those details play out. So we have the heavy rainfall into the north central. We start to see more of that snow and ice mixing in as we head into the evening hours. Eight p.m. Is where we're stopping the clock right now, but it's down where we have more of the scattered thunderstorms. That's we're really gonna see the trouble with that severe threat. We head into the overnight. Things start to track into the Great Lakes, the Ohio Valley, Chicago, Detroit, seeing more action. We're at four a.m. Friday, and we could see severe weather four a.m. Friday. It's not out of the question that things continue into the overnight.
