What did the state governor do today? Yesterday he killed. Which public policy did he start today? Will he inaugurate a school now? No. Brazil's President Lula, along with other ministers, held a minute of silence for the victims. The Brazilian leader was shocked at the number of fatalities. But in a post on X, he said they still needed to tackle organised crime. We cannot accept that organised crime continues to destroy our families, oppress residents and spread drugs and violence across cities. We need coordinated work that strikes at the backbone of drug trafficking without putting police, children and innocent families at risk. The federal government also raised questions that the operation was carried out without their knowledge and questioned the violence of it. But the governor of Rio de Janeiro asserted that it wasn't their intention to kill anyone. He said that it was a consequence of retaliation.
