Police officers in Woolwich Township, New Jersey, responded to a report of a child trapped in icy water after falling through a frozen pond. Body camera footage shows officers first attempting to throw a rope to the boy, but when he could not hold on due to the cold, two officers and a sergeant entered the water to pull him and the sergeant to safety.

All individuals involved in the rescue were unharmed. The Woolwich Police Department later shared that the boy visited the officers, was in good spirits, and thanked them by buying them lunch.

Police responded to a report of a child stuck in icy water Sunday afternoon. They first threw a rope to the boy, but he couldn't hold it because his hands were freezing. Two police officers then jumped into action to pull him and a sergeant to safety. That sergeant went in to try and save the boy. Everybody is okay. The Woolwich Police Department posting this photo earlier today saying the boy paid the officers a visit. How sweet is that? The post says he's in great spirits and doing well. The boy even got the officers lunch as a thank you, an experience none of them will forget.
