A 29-year-old man was discovered bloodied and bruised in the boot of a Toyota Camry in Villawood, New South Wales. He had been tied up, stabbed, and assaulted before being found by emergency crews who were responding to a separate incident in the same car park. 

Police believe the man was kidnapped by at least two individuals in a hire car from Guildford the previous day. The victim was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition, and police are continuing their investigation, including examining potential gang connections.

It's basically just like in the morning it was chaos what I saw, I look out the window I see a highway patroller, I see a couple of cop cars. Police believe the man was kidnapped by at least two people in this hire car from Military Road in Guildford between 4 and 5pm yesterday. He was discovered just before 7 this morning when emergency crews were called out to a separate incident that involved a child locked inside a car in the same car park. Residents say they heard noises coming from the boot of the Toyota Camry. You could hear from the boot, help, help, help. And moments later the 29-year-old man was pulled from the vehicle alive. I could see bruises on his face. Forensics this morning combing through the evidence, finding a bloodied piece of clothing and crutches inside the car where the man was found. Police searched this white Toyota for several hours while it was parked in this car park of the Villa Wood unit complex. Piecing together any proof to help them track down those responsible. He was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition with stab, burn and assault injuries to his legs and head. Investigations are ongoing as police tonight continue their search for the kidnappers. One of the lines of enquiry is whether this was a gang related offence. Mikaela Fanto, 10 News.
