These plant responses serve as natural weather predictors in the environment. By observing these behaviors, people can gain early warning signs of changing weather, such as increased moisture or approaching precipitation.

Some plants can indicate changing weather conditions. Here's a list of short plant predictors found in our natural environment. Pine cones. If there's moisture in the air, pine cones will close to prevent seeds from falling out. Too much water can ruin them. Flowers. Daisies, tulips, and poppies tend to close up with the threat of harsh weather. This can protect the pollen within. Leaves. You may observe leaves flipping over before rain. With more humidity in the air, stems on deciduous trees soften, which can allow for leaves to twist and turn before precipitation falls.
