When she told him she still hadn't been paid, he responded lies before leaving the room. The accusations come as the Patriots, one of the top teams in the NFL, gear up for the playoffs. The commissioner, Roger Goodell, could place him on the commissioner's exempt list, which would essentially be a paid leave. That decision, though, only falls to Goodell. The Patriots have no say in that. In a statement, a lawyer for Diggs called the allegations, quote, unsubstantiated and uncorroborated and claimed they stem from a financial dispute that didn't go the woman's way. The Patriots, who signed Diggs to a three-year, $69 million contract in March, said in a statement, we support Stephon. The NFL said it's aware of the incident but had no further comment. Diggs and Grammy award-winning rap star Cardi B welcomed a baby boy in November.
