Palestinians are questioning Israel's commitment to a ceasefire after a second day of strikes on Gaza killed at least two people.

The attacks mark the deadliest breach of the U.S.-brokered truce since its implementation, leaving many residents grieving and displaced once again.

Despite ongoing mediation efforts, the population remains skeptical about the ceasefire's ability to bring lasting peace. Constant sounds of explosions and drones, coupled with the destruction of homes and shelters, have left civilians questioning international guarantees and longing for a complete end to the conflict.

Palestinians in Gaza say they are losing hope in the ceasefire deal. Many are once again picking up what little remains of their belongings, a day after waves of Israeli strikes killed over a hundred people. Nearly half of those killed were children. It was the worst violation of the U.S. broken ceasefire since it came into effect. Despite the attacks, mediators say they are looking towards the next phase of the ceasefire plan. Let's go to Hani Mahmoud, who's live for us in Gaza City. Hani, so after the bloodiest day since the truce took hold, how are people in Gaza coping this morning? Well, Melina, it's not a question of coping as much as a question of how to survive these difficult conditions created by ongoing months of destruction and devastation. The daylight revealed what the night tried to hide, the devastation, the destruction, everything that's been going on for the past, not only two years, but also the past 24 hours and what followed. The 12 hours were 104 Palestinians being killed, 35 of them happened to be children, and more than 50 of women across the Gaza Strip leading to much of the destruction. Those who survived these attacks have been grieving for the loss of their loved ones, and as they try to areas where they were sheltering and find nothing, basically, they destroyed homes, the tents, the very evacuation center that they have taken in order to shelter from the horror of the unpredictable bombs. Everywhere you go in Gaza, there is a sense of hesitation, people holding their breath while the ceasefire might technically exist, but the sounds of explosions, the sounds of gunfire coming from the eastern side, the deep mechanical hum of the drones above Gaza in the skies of the entire Gaza Strip is a constant reminder of how fragile this ceasefire has been so far since it took hold, as well as a reminder that peace is out of reach in this region. People always talk about how uncertain they are, how concerned about the ability of the ceasefire to hold and to continue and to reduce the level of fear and trauma they have been experiencing, but again, this is out of reach for many of them. This is how people express how they feel about the ability of the ceasefire to hold and to continue. It has been called a ceasefire, but for people here, it doesn't feel that way. Every hour, people across Gaza City, they hear the constant sounds of explosions and the gunfire coming from the east, and with every boom, their fragile sense of normalcy that they've tried to rebuild, disappear. The message we want to send is this, where are the international guarantees that were promised? Where are the mediating countries that helped broker the ceasefire and pledged to ensure its continuation? A deep mechanical hum in the skies of the Gaza Strip constantly reminding people here that peace is out of reach in this area. Now, after the truce and the new wave of bombings on Gaza, people who had just begun to feel some sense of safety, peace and reassurance, who believed the war was finally over, are once again living in fear, especially the children and women. And as we walk, we couldn't help but hear people talking about that the ceasefire hasn't brought any certainty or peace. Only more questions, when will the next strike happen? Will it enter more easily, or will there be an end to this cycle of fear? We want a complete end to the war, a total ceasefire. We just want to live in safety. We want a full commitment to the truce, not just a week or two, only for things to return to aggression and war.
